Laser/Sunfish Sailing - Update

We had an excellent turnout for the Laser/Sunfish sailing last Thursday with seven Lasers and six Sunfish. The Lasers did team racing and the Sunfish did fleet racing with independent starts. I lost track of how many races were sailed but we had good weather, and a lot of fun.

The Second Annual Laser/Sunfish Regatta worked out very well in the end. We started with a slight shortage of wind, so we had an early barbeque while we looked at the glass on the lake. There were nine Lasers and five Sunfish who registered despite the light wind forecast. Fortunately, the wind picked up by early afternoon, and we got three races in before thunder forced the forth race to be abandoned. Congratulations to Dave Ryan and Randy Rubinstein, the winners of the Laser and Sunfish divisions respectively.

This Thursday's club schedule shows an off night, but Mike Goldstein has most graciously volunteered to run our regular Thursday night Laser/Sunfish racing. The current forecast is for east wind at 12 mph, and just a slight chance of showers. Hope to see a good turnout for the first race which is at 6:30 PM.

This Saturday is an off day for the regular Saturday late afternoon Laser/Sunfish racing due to the 4th of July holiday, but don't forget about all the other club activities that day.

Don't let the summer pass you by!

Eric
