I'm beginning to think that folks would prefer to sail when the weather is good. Last night we had fifteen boats including six Sunfish. There were sunny skies with a beautiful sunset, light to moderate winds, and temperature 68 degrees. Mike Goldstein asked, "How does it feel to sail when you can see each other?," referring to the thick fog we had last week. One of the nine Lasers (the club Laser) was used as a coach boat most of the time for one of our younger Sunfish sailors - a father/son team. Dan Abram seemed to be making very good use of his new Laser sail.
Bob Gaffney and Scott Rosa did a great job running independent starts for the Laser team racing and Sunfish fleet racing. Bob also took some photos which I hope to pass along at some point.
The forecast for the Saturday Laser/Sunfish racing tomorrow at 3 PM is looking very good - fair skies, temp 80, SW wind at 14 mph. Many of the Lasers will be away at an out-of-state team racing event. Hopefully, we'll see another great Sunfish turnout to make up the difference.
